Tell us about your background in physiotherapy.

I completed my Physiotherapy degree in Hong Kong, and specialized my practices in treating musculoskeletal conditions and women’s health. During the placements at private sports clinics, I have started treating neck and back conditions very early on while gaining exposure to a wide variety of sports related injuries. Meanwhile, I developed my physio skillsets in public hospitals placements, working in different medical settings such as musculoskeletal, neurology and cardiopulmonary has provided me extensive clinical experience in treating a board spectrum of conditions. During my placement at a Chinese medicine clinic, working with Chinese medicine practitioners, I had a large exposure on treating patients using acupuncture, cupping and other manual therapy.

Moreover, I have volunteered in different rugby and baseball teams, providing on-site physio treatments to athletes during their competitions in my spare time.

From finance to health industry. Before my pursuit of helping others with my physio qualifications, I used to work in banking industry for over a decade and suffered from chronic neck and shoulder pain, due to prolonged sitting and incorrect desk setup. I am particularly determined to use my physio skillsets to help office warriors!

What are your interests/areas of expertise in physiotherapy?

I treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, including work related neck and back pain, women’s health (both pre and post- natal) and sports injuries. As a previous office warrior, I particularly specialize in treating work related pain.

I combine manual therapy, body biomechanics assessment and acupuncture with individualized exercise prescriptions. I also teach patients home-based exercise to speed up their recovery by bringing the physio treatments experience home.

What is the most fulfilling part of this job?

I am very blessed to use my expertise and experience to help others. The most fulfilling part is getting clients better and walking with them side by side to become pain free and have a better quality of life. I enjoy listening to clients’ stories, each of you has a unique and fascinating journey. Can’t wait to hear yours!

Tell us about a life-changing experience or adventure you’ve been on.

As a mother of two, my life changing experience is giving birth. I experienced firsthand how pregnancy and newborn care has put enormous stress on physical and mental status, and also the benefits of physiotherapy treatments on women’s pre and post-natal care. I specialized in prenatal exercises to strengthen muscles and flexibility to facilitate delivery, and post-natal treatments on stress incontinence and Kegel exercises, De Quervain's tenosynovitis (mother's thumb) and checked for diastasis rectus abdominis and post cesarean scar management. As I was blessed with excellent pre and post-natal physiotherapy treatment, I hope I can help others too.

What are your personal interests?

I am a gym lover. Before attaining my physiotherapy degree, I was a licensed personal trainer. Being a weightlifter for over 10 years, and previously school basketball and cross-country team members, I have overcome many injuries, from biceps and rotator cuff tendonitis, hamstring strain, leg adductor ligament torn, sprained ankle and more… I know how it feels! And I am amazed by the medical therapeutic benefits of physiotherapy treatments! Now I am well-equipped professionally to help others too!

Vicky Wong provided excellent acupuncture service and healed my right elbow, which I injured from basketball. During the treatment process, she carefully inquired about my condition and diagnosed my arm. I understand that she is very knowledgable at sports and have a deep understanding of orthopaedics, so I am so happy that I chose her as my physiotherapist. She is an absolute professional during the process. After several sessions, my arm fully recovered. Thank you Vicky for the excellent treatment you gave me. Not only was the treatment excellent, but the atmosphere of kindness and joy ministered to my spirit and helped me heal emotionally as well. It was a blessing for me to have worked through my therapy with you!
