Sports Performance
How Does Sports Performance Physiotherapy Help?
Most athletes are always finding ways to improve their performance and maximise their potential in sport. At Sports and Spinal Physiotherapy centres, our therapists use an evidence-based and technology-integrated approach to devise methods to enhance your capability.
Assessment and Diagnosis
Our physios will approach you with a physical and psychosocial assessment to better gauge the factors that help and hinder your performance. Besides physical factors, athletes can be held back and influenced by non-sports related factors, such as insufficient sleep, inadequate nutrition and poor mental health.
Treatment Sessions
During your treatment sessions, your body’s strength, flexibility and functionality will be tested with a range of assessments. Your physiotherapist might also suggest changes to your diet to ensure you are receiving adequate nutrients for good sports performance, and changes to your personal life to rid unhealthy habits. Not only will a comprehensive treatment plan help you become a more robust athlete, but it will help you to reduce the potential chance for injuries and teach you how to deal with sports injuries in the future.
