Golf Screening for Excellence Programme

How does this Golf Screening Programme help?

Whether you are a professional, amateur or social golfer the game can be physically and mentally demanding. Like many sports these days, a well-tailored screening and exercises programme can help the body adapt to the rigorous demands at all levels of participation thereby improving performance and preventing injury.

At ProHealth Sports and Spinal we perform comprehensive physical assessments and golf specific screening to identify weak links in the kinetic chain which lead to poor technique, loss of distance and injury. The screening is followed by a personalised exercise programme, combined with hands on treatment to any localised joint or soft tissue dysfunction, ultimately resulting in improved on-course performance.

The programme has a holistic approach examining core strength, upper and lower body strength, stability, mobility, muscle length, force production and balance. We prefer to work in tandem with your golf teaching professional, so together we can reach your golf performance targets.

Initial Assessment Includes:

Includes testing core strength and stability, the quality and flow of movements which produce physical power and explosiveness, plus upper and lower body strength and flexibility. This pragmatic approach to your whole physique is crucial in identifying possible weaknesses that may cause injury or loss of performance.

Subsequent Sessions Include:

Subsequent sessions will be based around the targets identified in the screening and will include:

  • Full screening report. Targets identified around strength and range of movement for an optimal golf swing.
  • Golf specific exercise program prescribed, including self-management tips to use at home and on the course. Each programme is uniquely designed for your needs and progressed as you require until you are strong, mobile and have reached your specific golfing goals.
  • Soft tissue and joint mobilisation treatment to obtain optimal range of movement required for the golf swing.
