Tell us about your background in physiotherapy:
I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in the UK. Throughout my degree, I had always been particularly interested in musculoskeletal and sports injuries. When I first returned to Hong Kong after graduating, I worked at a football club as an on-field medic and physiotherapist. Furthermore, I have been consistently upgrading my “rehabilitation toolkit” and currently pursuing a Diploma in Acupuncture, as well as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist Course.
What are your interests?
I am heavily involved in sports even after working hours. I am an avid fan of football, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Muay Thai and working out.
Tell us about a life-changing experience or adventure you’ve been on.
I participated in a student exchange study tour to Xi’an during secondary school. We travelled to different rural areas in China and visited several schools there. After understanding the hardships of the students, to see them always smiling and being welcoming to us, I have come to realisation that we should cherish what we have. Even after all these years, it is still an unforgettable experience and has a massive impact on my attitude towards life.
What is your area of expertise?
I have a wide variety of tools in my “rehabilitation toolkit”, which includes soft-tissue manual therapy, pain relief and individually customised treatment plans for clients.
However, my most important area of expertise is communication and empathy for clients. For them to understand every step of the process in their rehabilitation is essential for effective treatment.
What is the most fulfilling part of this job?
Building rapport with clients, working alongside them to help restore their quality of life, and getting them back to what they love doing definitely brings me a lot of satisfaction!
