Amanda graduated as a physiotherapist in Queensland, Australia. Since graduating she has been working in rural New South Wales, Australia, providing care to a wide range of musculoskeletal, neurological and sports-related conditions. She became certified in APPI Pilates, and did courses to further her practice in dry needling, musculoskeletal and aquatic physiotherapy.

Amanda became interested in Women’s Health in 2022 and had dived deep into this area. She has done numerous courses in Pelvic Health in particular with the Australian Physiotherapy Association and the Women’s Health Training Associate, focusing on better managing urinary and faecal incontinence, urgency, constipation and pelvic organ prolapse.

As a Hong Kong native, Amanda returned to Hong Kong after being in Australia for nearly a decade. She is keen to start working with people in Hong Kong to optimise their health and function.

What are your interests?

I am an introvert who values my me time after work. I enjoy hiking, hitting the gym, and sometimes being a couch potato watching Youtube. I am exceptionally curious especially with physically active activities. My goal is to explore (nearly) all sports, ranges from yoga to table volleyball, to BJJ.

I speak native Cantonese, fluent English and Mandarin, and K-drama/K-reality show level Korean.

What is your area of expertise?

I am exceptionally interested in managing Women’s Health condition particularly in pelvic health condition (eg urinary/faecal incontinence, urgency, and pelvic organ prolapse). I have also done additional training in managing other women’s health condition through different life stages, eg pre- and post-natal, as well as peri-menopause conditions. Although I am capable in treating all musculoskeletal and sporting injuries, I have higher interest in managing both acute and chronic neck and back pain, using a combination of manual techniques as well as Pilates and gym/home exercises.

What are your future aims?

I aim to empower whoever I meet in the past and future with my physiotherapy knowledge, so they can live the best life they can. This involves continuously upskilling myself with the evidence-based and recent knowledge and relaying the knowledge to people I meet.
